THE INtroductory WEEK

Want to get involved in the Riding A Dream Academy but haven't ridden before? No problem!

New for 2022 is our Introductory Week for young people aged 14-18 from diverse communities and underprivileged backgrounds who have little or no experience of riding or horses.

Our first Introductory Week is a fully funded residential course taking place at the British Racing School in Newmarket from Monday 24th - Friday 28th October 2022.

Applications close on Wednesday 21st September

Please make sure that you meet the following criteria:

- Aged 14-18 with an interest in horses, riding or British horse racing

- Good attitude and willingness to learn

- Love of animals

- Do not own or loan a pony

- We particularly welcome applications from young people from diverse communities and disadvantaged backgrounds

Please do not apply if you own or loan a pony.

You'll learn how to look after the incredible racehorses at the British Racing School including horse welfare, grooming and horse nutrition. You'll also develop special skills such as lunging and long reining.

You'll find out more about the world of British horseracing - you'll go racing, go behind the scenes at racing yards, studs etc and also find out about the different careers opportunities in the sport.

Whilst this is an opportunity to find out about one of Britain's most popular sports and develop new skills, we also want you to have fun, meet lots of people and find out more about what makes British horseracing so special.
