THE RESIDENTIAL WEEK
Our Residential Week is a fun, riding-based introduction to British horse racing and is hosted at the
British Racing School in Newmarket.
In 2023/24 the Residential Weeks are kindly funded by the Sir Peter O'Sullevan Charitable Trust.
Applications are now closed for our next Residential Week which will take place from Monday 14th - Friday 18th August 2023 and is specifically for young people aged 14-16 who are from diverse communities, underprivileged backgrounds and urban equestrian centres. You can apply for our Residential Weeks even if you haven't ridden before and we particularly welcome applications from individuals from diverse ethnic backgrounds.
AM I ELIGIBLE?

-
Good attitude and willingness to learn and work hard!
-
Love of animals

You will learn to ride the racehorses at the British Racing School and will receive specialist training from the BRS instructors. You'll improve your skills on simulators and learn more about looking after horses.

You'll find out more about the world of British horseracing - you'll go racing, go behind the scenes at a top racing yard or stud and also find out about the different careers opportunities in the sport.

Whilst this is an opportunity to improve your riding and horse care skills, we also want you to have fun, meet lots of people and find out more about what makes British horseracing so special.
