Academy students star in new ITV4 ident

Four students from the Riding A Dream Academy star in the latest ITV4 channel brand idents which will air from Tuesday 15th November.

The students, each of whom graduated from the Academy’s Khadijah Mellah Scholarship earlier this year, feature in idents which are used as brief clips between programmes and will be used exclusively on ITV4, home to the broadcaster’s free world class sports coverage.

Within the light-hearted ident, the students star as jockeys, enjoying a post-race snack with their horses at a central London café. You can view the ident here.

Aamilah Aswat, one of the students to take part in the filming and who is currently training to be a jockey at the British Racing School said, “Filming the idents was an amazing experience and like nothing I’ve done before. It was really fun to work with the team and some very well-behaved horses and I can’t wait to see the ident on ITV4.”

Naomi Lawson, Managing Director at the Riding A Dream Academy said, “It was a complete privilege for the Riding A Dream Academy to be included in the new ITV4 ident and it is great that the team at ITV Creative decided to use horse racing as the theme for it. It is obviously light-hearted as you don’t often see jockeys and racehorses relaxing outside a busy city-centre café and we are delighted that it will be used so prominently on ITV4 and that racing will have this presence across the channel.”

Ed Ross, Senior Head of Marketing, ITV said, “Racing plays such a role in our sporting line up for ITV4, that we are excited to be able to represent the sport within our latest ident and also feature up and coming jockeys from the Riding A Dream Academy.”

ITV4 first won the domestic horse racing rights in 2016 and is contracted to show almost 100 days of horse racing free-to-air each year, with marquee events such as The Grand National and The Derby making up its coverage.
